Lynzee is ONE!
WOW! Can you believe it has been 1 year? I can't, she is growing up way too fast. Mommy and Daddy got her a lady bug tent and ball pit, along with her new big girl car seats. Grandma and Grandpa Hanson built her a beautiful toy box (handcrafted pine with a cushion top to be used as a bench). Grandma and Grandpa Crouse got her a Radio Flyer Classic Tiny Trike. And Uncle Russell got her a penguin toy and U of U onesie. Mommy made Lynzee her very own chocolate bundt cake. Being her 1st birthday I thought it would be fun and went ahead with the chocolate - she didn't like it. She picked at it a little, but I don't think she liked the taste or the texture of the cool whip frosting. I then cut the rasberry ripple bundt cake that I had made for everyone else...she sat down with Grandma Crouse, grabbed her whole cake and started eating. She enjoyed that cake and LOVED the ice cream...she took an entire handful and shoveled it in. We were worried about "brain freeze," but she didn't seem effected. She did her normal growl of delight and request of "feed my faster, this is way too good to slow down..." She ate a whole scoop of ice cream and at least half of the cake. I should have known better than to make Lynzee something different than the rest of the group. She always likes what we eat better...maybe she is not a huge fan of chocolate - just like her father.
She had a party at school with nine of her friends. It was a princess theme. They all had a great time and she got a second (or third) cake. She gave her friends a book and cookie as a party favor.
Lynzee's first year has been so much fun. I enjoy all the changes and new experiments. She still has so much ahead of her. She pretty much eats anything that doesn't require excess chewing now. She loves to feed herself. We are switching her to milk vs formula and seems to be doing OK. She is not allowed to have a bottle at school anymore, so we are working on that transition as well. She has moved to the next room and loves it. So many new toys and grown up friends.
Well...here is to another year!
