Cosmic, man!
Submitted by Jordan on January 22, 2007 - 11:10pm.Its been a few months now that the new crouse-house site has been up, and I'm very happy with it. But I wanted a place where I could do more blogging about geeky topics and other such stuff that really doesn't belong here - so Marc convinced me to revive cosmicpenguin.net, and I'm happy to report today that we're up and blogging. Jump on over and check it out - if you dare.

Monday Stuff
Submitted by Jordan on December 11, 2006 - 8:49pm.Hey all - things are still going well at the Crouse House. Of course, like everybody else, we're still processing our fair share of spam (394 just yesterday), but our good friend SpamAssassin is keeping up. Other then that - we're just happily ticking along. So, in lieu of news - read on for our patented random whatsis....

Finally, we're live!
Submitted by Jordan on October 31, 2006 - 10:56pm.Yay! - we are up and running! I'm so happy to have the new server running - my poor desktop is already happier. Still lots of tweaking in my future - I want to make sure I have all the fun modules from Drupal and Gallery, and I want to continue hacking on my squirrelmail interface to make it less ugly.
So, from now on, less technical discussion amd more stupid thoughts on things in general. Keep an eye out for interesting changes, they'll happen alot.

Email is on
Submitted by Jordan on October 28, 2006 - 8:21pm.I got the postfix->courier-imap set up on the new server (which I creatively called fritz). Since I had already previously gotten the virtual user setup working on the old server, this was way easier. Now, I'm moving on to enabling dspam - which is going to be the most complex part of the whole adventure, mainly because I don't understand dspam very well. I don't know how aliases will work - and that a big part of the the training thing.
So, tommorrow - while I'm watching football, I'm going to install dspam, train it with ham and spam, and see if I can get it reliably working.

Thank you Drupal (and Gallery)
Submitted by Jordan on October 26, 2006 - 8:43pm.I am so very happy with Drupal, you don't even know. I am very happy to kick geekcode to the curb, never to return. Drupal was actually really easy to setup, it looks good, and its powerful as all get out. I haven't even gone through the extensive list of modules that are available. I'm also very happy with Gallery Gallery. I've been using Gallery 1 on the old crouse-house for a while now, but gallery 2 is even cooler, it integrates completely with drupal, and we've got that sweet random image block thing. Its way fun.
